Mr Oscar Asche believes that there are Australian people of writing better plays than the "trash" from America, where they do not use or speak the same language as we do.
Say, what's this guy know about it anyway? Tryin' to hand us a lemon, is he? Tryin' to put one across us! An' who is this Asche bird who shoots off his mouth about reel high-class Amurican drammer bein' "tosh"? S'pose, he reckons it's punk. Plays dinky little Willie-boy parts in Shakespeare himself, so I've heard. Look-a-here, this Shakespeare guy ain't got nothin' on us. I'd like to seen this Asche boy put it over on one of our reel Western drammers. Be-lieve me he'd be dead up against it. Anyways, I'm sure glad that us in Gawd's own country don't speak the same lingo as he does. If "tosh" is any sort of a sample our language is newer an' we got no use for them fresh boys who wants to side-track our drammer export business. An' I guess I've spoke a mouthful.
