R. H. Croll

Collaborator of C J Dennis

R. H. (Robert Henderson) Croll was born in Stawell, Victoria in 1869. He undertook a long career in the Victorian Education Department and maintained a lifelong interest in literature and art. His love of bushwalking brought him into contact with C.J. Dennis near Toolangi.

Details of their association are described in "The Laureate of the Larrikin". Croll contributed both prose and verse to Australian publications and was an important figure in Dennis’s circle. He died in 1947.
