The Australian Ballet
The Australian Ballet premiered a ballet adaptation of C.J. Dennis’s The Songs of a Sentimental Bloke in 1985, choreographed by Robert Ray. Set to music by Albert Arlen, arranged by John Lanchbery, this comedic production followed the story of Bill and Doreen . The ballet was revived in 1995 and 2002.
Premiering at the Sydney Opera House from 8 to 28 May 1985, The ballet wasalso performed at the Festival Theatre Adelaide from 27 to 31 Aud 1985, and was notable for inclusion in The Australian Ballet 1985 Soviet Union tour
