The leaders of the Farmers' Union and the Country Liberal parties have had further conversations in Victoria, and it is possible that both parties will meet together on Tuesday.
First Leader: I think it might be a good idea if we were to combine. Second Leader: I should prefer a fusion. Third Leader: I think an amalgamation might— Fourth Leader: A coalition might possibly be— First Leader: The question really is: have we the numbers? Fourth Leader: Of course, if you aren't going to call it a coalition— Second Leader: I say, a fusion. Third Leader: No; an amalgamation. Sixth Leader: What's the matter with a union? A Blunt Leader: What's our chance of office, anyhow? Chorus of Leaders: Sir! (General uproar.) First Leader (soothingly): Gentle- men, I think perhaps we had better meet all the boys together on Tuesday and count heads. Chorus of Leaders (relieved): Righto!
