Your Budget, Mr Scullin, has left me very sad. We know the country's needy; we know the times are bad. We looked for some retrenchment, and measures to that end; But still for us 'tis pay, pay; for you still spend and spend. The taxes wax enormous while incomes sadly wane; But here's a sporting offer we'd have you entertain; Since soon we can't support it, this burden on our backs, Suppose you take the income, and let us have the tax.
