PATHETIC QUERIES
ASTRONOMY
The sun he is a funny thing,
I’ve often watched the way
He shines and shines like anything
Throughout the livelong day.
The moon is less particular;
And she is lazy, too.
She shines in bits. Is that what she
Would do if she was you?
I think he’s too precise, Old Sol,
At least, he seems to be.
He certainly would have a hol-
Iday if he was me.
POVERTY
I often watch the curling smoke
Go up from my cigar –
At least, I often would if they
Were cheaper than they are.
